OVERVIEW OF JOB POSTING: Canopy Roads is a vibrant church in the growing northeast side of Tallahassee, Florida. The church became debt-free at the end of 2020 and is actively pursuing a new vision to transform its community and the surrounding area by raising up a new generation of Christ followers who adopt a “Live S.E.N.T.” lifestyle. The Worship Pastor will play a critical role in our journey to fulfill this vision. Canopy Roads has a staff size of 11 individuals and is overseen by a team of elders (5 non-staff elders and two staff-elders). The ideal candidate is someone whose life purpose, skillset, and experience are in alignment with the vision of Canopy Roads and is someone who is energized by collaborative teamwork, pioneering new initiatives, and has a proven track record of developing and deploying others for “the work of ministry (Eph. 4:11-16).”

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the creative team to generate and implement new ideas that enhance the Sunday morning worship environment
2. Engage prospective local musicians through jams, concerts, and/or special events in the community
3. Utilize media arts to create an irresistible environment and lead the congregation in expressive forms of worship
4. Be responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling the worship team(s)
5. Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship on CRBC’s campus
6. Manage all software (ProPresenter, Planning Center, etc.) and equipment required for the worship ministry
7. Oversee the worship ministry budget
8. Be available for campus pastoral ministry and other ministry opportunities as needed (i.e., special events, Vacation Bible School, local conferences, etc.)
9. Set annual goals and strategic objectives for the worship ministry, in line with CRBC’s vision, and then evaluate how those goals were attained or modified throughout the year
10. Provide oversight to the youth worship team
11. Leverage social media, the Internet, and other evolving technology to promote and develop worship ministries
12. Pursue ongoing personal and professional development through reading, webinars, conferences, formal education, and/or other means

Qualifications:

1. Be a Christ-follower and display a maturing relationship with Christ
2. Have a Bible college or seminary degree in a related field
3. Demonstrated excellence as a worship leader with 3+ years of experience growing a worship ministry
4. Strong theological knowledge and ability to deliver gospel truths within worship services
5. Instrumental proficiency (strong vocal, musicianship, and stage presence)
6. Have excellent organizational and relational skills with a track record for developing volunteers and teams
