QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Health or Fitness related field required. Bachelor’s Degree in a similar field with at least 5 years’ experience managing a similar operation will be considered. A minimum of 3-5 years proven successful experience in an administrative, supervisory and/or organizational programming position required. Extensive knowledge of sports and recreation programming, health and wellness promotion, and youth development is essential. Must be able to establish and maintain supportive working relationships with the Tribe, staff, the public, service groups, community stakeholders, and patrons. Experience in team building and staff development essential. Experience in marketing a program or facility is required. Basic understanding of computers is required. Personal values consistent with the Marimn Health mission a must. Growth-minded, mission driven, ability to focus team on service to the community a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a positive peer relationship and performs as a team player.

- Leads the Wellness Center and Coeur Center Teams by good example.

- Employee models the desired behavior of their staff in terms of timely reporting to work, breaks, personal business, communicating absences in advance, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- In collaboration with the CSO, executive team, and leadership team, establishes strategic direction for the Wellness Services team and assures the accomplishment of organizational goals and objectives.
- Manages the overall day-to-day Wellness Services operations (Wellness Center and the Coeur Center) to provide optimal preventative care, wellness services for the body and mind, and fitness programs and services to our community.
- Coordinates the continuation and expansion of Marimn Health Wellness Services programming to meet the needs of the community.
- Collaborates with medical, dental, behavioral health, and other Marimn Health departments to integrate services at the Wellness Center and Coeur Center consistent with mission and vision of Marimn Health.
- Maintains supportive and collaborative relationship with Physical Therapy Manager and team.
- Serves as a member of the Marimn Health Leadership Team.
- Provides leadership, program planning, support, and development opportunities to those responsible for achieving department objectives and implementing policies and procedures to ensure optimum services.
- Works closely with CFO and CSO to develop, monitor, and administer the Wellness Services budgets.
- Analyzes and addresses Wellness Center and Coeur Center building needs in collaboration with the Facility Manager, CFO, and Department Managers.
- Coordinates the marketing of the facilities and programs.
- Implements plans and programs to grow membership base.
- Assists the Grant Manager with grant development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting.
- Meets regularly with department managers, receives and reviews departmental reports, consults and advises on department functions and activities, seeks solutions to management problems, and makes recommendations.
- Coordinates with Marimn Health Directors and other personnel to respond to the community’s needs for quality health and wellness care services.
- Responsible for the direct supervision of staff within all Wellness Services programs, including Fitness, Aquatics, Membership Services, Boys & Girls Club of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Sports & Recreation, and the Foundation for Coeur d’Alene Tribal Youth in compliance with organizational chart.
- Ensures that a talent development system is in place and executed effectively. Hires, motivates, nurtures, retains, grows, and holds staff accountable for key objectives.
- Creates a culture of success by skillfully leading, organizing, and overseeing a diverse team.
- Encourages the team by creating a spirit of camaraderie and sense of mission/purpose. Maintains high employee morale and a professional, healthy working atmosphere.
- Creates a learning organization to achieve the highest potential of staff. Promotes educational opportunities for staff and supports support professional development, performance evaluation, training, and recruiting.
- Completes Wellness Services Managers performance evaluations in a timely manner, signs time sheets, and approves PTO according to company policy.
- Serves on hiring committees for recruitment of Wellness Services staff and participates in justification for staffing as well as ultimate selection.
- Serves as a role model to staff in terms of professional conduct and accountability. Provides a good example for work schedule including some early mornings, evenings, weekends, and events.
- Recommends personnel actions (i.e.: hiring, terminations, disciplinary action) within the Wellness Services Program teams. Documents personnel issues, incident reports, etc. as warranted.
- Interprets the mission, vision, and goals of Marimn Health’s wellness programs and facilities and translates them into meaningful community relationships.
- Monitors and assists with member satisfaction, customer service, positive community relationships, etc.
- Handles member and client complaints in a timely manner and resolves them to the best of their ability.
- Facilitates positive relationships between patients, patrons, community members, families, staff, and the public.
- Serves as a liaison and ambassador for the Wellness Services Team and programs, and for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. Assists with presentations and tours and serves on regional committees that may be in the best interest of the organization.
- Communicates effectively with co-workers, staff, and members.
- Takes an active role in community outreach and community wide meetings (Tribal Collaboration Committee, etc.), makes community presentations and represents the facility in a positive, professional manner.
- Completes all reports, projects, and minutes by due dates unless other arrangements are made and communicated in advance.
- Creates and ensures that Marimn Health policies and procedures are followed.
- Delegates work and assigns tasks while putting into place and enforcing solid administrative procedures to keep all WS operations running smoothly and efficiently
- Works closely with Quality Improvement Department to assure quality of services and full compliance with accreditation standards and safety protocols.
- Attends assigned committee meetings and regularly meets with Marimn Health and Wellness Services supervisory and operational staff to maintain continuity of services.
- Takes an independent role in assigned tasks. Identifies deficiencies and is motivated to accomplish what is necessary.
- Is thorough and completes projects on time. Prepares reports and submits data as required.
