Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced VP to join our Business Development group in Princeton, NJ. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this role is pivotal in leading our Search & Evaluate processes for Licensing and M&A opportunities in the US, EU, and China.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Growth: Collaborate with Business Development and specialty therapy area teams to refine growth strategies in ophthalmology, dermatology, and onco-dermatology, and explore expansion into oncology and rheumatology.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a team of Search & Evaluate professionals in the US, EU, and China.
Opportunity Tracking: Identify and track licensing opportunities aligned with our strategic goals.
Partnership Development: Develop and manage strategic partnerships with key biotech and pharma companies.
Process Implementation: Create and implement processes to monitor projects and ensure timely decision-making at governance meetings.
Executive Presentations: Make presentations to senior executives, both internally and externally.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Transactions and Legal teams to prepare Term Sheets and Licensing Agreements.
Negotiation: Serve as a member of the negotiations team, tracking and reporting on proposal components.
Competitive Intelligence: Maintain up-to-date competitive intelligence data.
Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams.
Problem-Solving: Exhibit strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, navigating complex challenges.
Industry Awareness: Stay current with industry trends, emerging therapies, and advancements in clinical trial methodologies.
Interpersonal Skills: Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Team Culture: Promote a team culture of continuous improvement, ownership, professional growth, and inclusion.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: PhD or MD/PhD with expertise in immunology, dermatology, and/or rheumatology. Post-doctoral experience is a plus.
Experience: 15+ years of experience in biotech and/or pharma business development, with international experience (including the EU and China).
Track Record: Demonstrated success in Business Development and contributions to deals (deal sheet required).
