About The Role In this role, you’ll have an opportunity to craft the experience financial research teams and registered investment advisors have using Countercyclical’s core software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.
In This Team, You Will - Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and implement software solutions.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Work on both front-end and back-end development tasks to create responsive, scalable, user-friendly applications.
- Compose descriptive, visual documentation for the end users of our core software platform
- Influence the team’s product roadmap and overall strategy vis-à-vis feedback discussions alongside directly engaging with our users to promote tight iteration cycles.
- Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving issues both locally and in production-facing environments.
- Research and adopt new technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our development processes.
About You We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements outlined below to be considered for the role.
The preferred qualifications are not a requirement, but would be great to see! Minimum Requirements - Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field at an accredited university (with the intention of graduating)
- Strong understanding and proficiency of core web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern front-end framework (e.g., React or Vue)
- Proficiency with extensive front-end state management (e.g. React Context API, Redux)
- Proficiency with CSS frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap, Tailwind, Radix)
- Proficiency in a server-side language such as Node.js
- Proficiency with building and using RESTful APIs
- Proficiency with SQL-focused database systems, mainly PostgreSQL
- Proficiency with cloud-based providers such as AWS or Heroku
- Proficiency with macOS/Unix-based operating systems
- Proficiency with all phases of the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of Unix-based CLIs, preferably Bash or ZSH
- Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git
- Knowledge of cloud-based developer collaboration platforms, preferably GitHub
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment along with adapting to new technological and business changes
- Passion, above all else, for learning about finance, technology, and staying up-to-date with industry trends
Preferred Qualifications - Currently pursuing a minor/double major in Economics, Finance, or a related field with a focus on capital markets/corporate finance at an accredited university (with the intention of graduating)
- Proficiency with TypeScript
- Proficiency with Express.js
- Experience with analyzing and interpreting financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow
- Experience with building financial models and performing discounted cash flow analysis
- Experience with building sum-of-the-parts/break-up valuations (including scenario and sensitivity analysis)
- Experience with open-source software (OSS) contributions
- Experience with continuous integrations services such as CircleCI or GitHub Actions
- Experience with in-memory data stores such as Redis
- Experience with application performance monitoring tools such as Sentry or New Relic
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira or Linear.app
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or RapidAPI
- Experience with design tools such as Figma or Canva
