Job Description
SEnergy is seeking proactive, assertive, analytical Senior Power Electrical Engineer who is a technical expert, loves building processes and passionate about developing the next generation.
The successful candidate will have 8 or more years of successful experience in Substation Engineering for the power industry.
The position is located at our Boerne office and may require some overnight travel to project sites.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach, train and develop team, including providing conflict resolution, for entire divisional team to meet the specific Client outcomes required.
- Represent SEnergy and Client when meeting with other stakeholders including property owners, other engineering firms or construction services.
- Prepare accurate proposal(s) for the Client, in a timely manner; ensure pricing is accurate and maintain established margins, reviewing any risks with Division Manager; present proposal to Client when required
- Lead team in project deliverables from start to finish including preparation of drawings, visual aids, staking sheets, line calculations, engineering studies, permit applications, material testing, CADD work, research and investigation, reviewing, and editing specifications with team members and assist in scheduling and budgeting requirements for projects.
- Review, approve and place seal on such documents for team. Prepare project close out documents.
- Interpret codes and standards associated with project and ensure codes and standards are adhered to
- Quality control of entire project, ensuring all documents, drawings or other associated items prepared by team are accurate and delivered on time.
- Develop timeline, coordinate and assign tasks to staff and manage timeline until project completion while staying ahead and communicating any delays that are foreseeable to mitigate risks
- Develop new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products
- Reviews operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.
- Serves as technical specialist for the division on advanced concepts, principles, and methods.
- Keeps informed on new developments within the industry, requirements affecting the business due to new developments and proposes recommended changes to Management for business continuity.
- Accountable for the resolution of technical engineering conflicts that arise from assigned team.
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- PE Certification; 8 years’ experience in Substation Engineering
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program;
- Possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills and able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
SKILLS:
- Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills,
- Exceptional computer skills, with emphasis in project management, spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking.
PHYSICAL:
- This position requires the ability to listen and hear, good eyesight, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms.
