Senior Pastor -The Woodlands Bible Church

The Woodlands Bible Church is seeking a full time Senior Pastor with prior pastoral experience of preaching/teaching and must demonstrate strong leadership with the ability to lead the congregation with humility, integrity and a servants heart, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the church.

About The Woodlands Bible Church

The Woodlands Bible Church (TWBC) is a non-denominational Bible church where the Mission is Restoration, Teaching and Purpose. The church is located in the heart of The Woodlands, Texas, a beautiful planned community about 35 miles north of Houston, Texas. The doctrinal statement is founded on the truth and authority of Scripture and teaching of God’s word. TWBC is a friendly church with a congregation of about 100 who love the Lord and worship with sincerity. It is a place to connect with others that are like minded in their pursuit of God, and a place where one can fulfill the purpose in the community.

Qualifications

Biblical Standards:

• Seeking a candidate who embodies the biblical qualifications as written in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9, reflecting integrity, stability, and doctrinal soundness.

Experience:

• Prior experience in leading, preaching, counseling, pastoral care and managing staff and administrative duties.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills and has a Shepard's spirit.

Education:

• A strong theological education from an accredited institution is preferred, however, all levels of education and experience will be considered.
• Demonstrates a deep understanding of Scripture and Christian theology.

Leadership:

• Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, including casting visions for youth programs and church growth, setting goals, and the ability to inspire and empower others.
• A leader, preacher and teacher of God’s word.
• Leads the congregation with humility, integrity and a servants heart, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the church.

Responsibilities:

Preaching/Teaching:

• A Senior Pastor who is primarily an expositional teacher with prior experience in that capacity.
• An effective and dynamic communicator, able to analyze scripture in an engaging style that provides a clear understanding of God’s word.
• Agrees with our doctrinal statement and generally in agreement with the philosophy of ministry, and should exhibit personable Godly attributes.
• One who loves the Lord, is committed to prayer and who understands worship.

Worship Style:

• Believes that worship is an integral part of preparation for God’s word.
• God has led us to develop a strong and faithful worship team of gifted musicians and vocalists that share the gifts for God’s glory. Candidates should be very comfortable with a contemporary worship service of praise band music blended with traditional hymns.

Discipleship:

• Committed to fostering believers growth in the faith and helping the believers become mature disciples of Christ.
• Exhibits a past discipleship ministry, including discipleship training education, small groups, mentoring relationships, and other discipleship opportunities.

Pastoral Care:

• Ability to shepherd rhe congregation with wisdom and love, showing compassion and empathy for the care of individuals.
• One should be able to provide pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance and support for those in need.

Strategic Planning:

• Play’s a vital role in developing a vision for the future of TWBC.
• Provides ideas and suggestions on ways to improve the church structure including go forward planning for church programs and education.
• Maintains close collaboration with the Elder board in the planning process.

Administration and Management:

• Possesses strong church administrative skills, including a high degree of experience to manage church staff, ministries and resources.

Evangelism and Community Outreach:

• Is committed to sharing the gospel and leading the church in evangelistic outreach.
• Has a heart for the lost and a desire to share the Gospel and to engage with non-believers.
• Will actively engage in the local community, connecting with other community church leaders, and seeking to meet the needs of others who share the love of Christ.
• Develops a strategic approach to community outreach.

Compensation:

• Salary compensation will be in line with the church budget and the cost of living in The Woodlands area. The salary package will be fair and competitive with other church’s in our area that are similar in size, and will reflect the candidates qualifications and experience.
