Part-Time Assistant Dean, Clinical Affairs- Knoxville (Internal Search)

This is a 30% part-time position based in Knoxville, TN at the UT Graduate School of Medicine

Responsibilities:

• Represent clinical enterprise within the Graduate School of Medicine/University of Tennessee Medical Center/University Health Network strategic planning process

• Work with Graduate School of Medicine clinics and University Health Network for clinical integration

• Oversee continuous quality improvement and CLERS expectations

• Select, supervise, and mentor clinic medical directors and assure collaboration and coordination between them

• Provide input on financial, space, equipment and personnel matters

• Work with Assistant Dean, Graduate Medical Education to ensure quality patient care and excellent education in clinics

• Work with Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education to ensure quality patient care and excellent undergraduate medical education in clinics

• Work with Assistant Dean, Finance and Administration for billing and budgets for clinical services

• Report to the Dean as a member of the Graduate School of Medicine Executive Leadership Dean's Council

• Work collaboratively with the Graduate School of Medicine Department Chairs, Clinic Directors and Clinic Administrators

Basic Qualifications:

• MD/DO

• Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or OB/GYN

• TN Medical Licensure

Departmental Preferences:

• Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or OB/GYN training and experience

• Executive managerial experience

• Business/Financial and Practice Management skills and experience

• Understanding of rules, regulations and policies governing health care delivery in clinic settings

• Experience in training medical students, residents, and fellows in outpatient settings.
