Job Description

The role of a designer is to conduct business by drawing sketches and creating layout plans that present company goals. You will be responsible for creating within a budget while implementing plans that improve traffic flow and work productivity. A career move as an Interior Designer would be a good fit if you have a keen eye for detail, an organizational mind and you enjoy networking with collaborators to communicate your vision to others. Duties/Responsibilities: Site survey spaces, measure dimensions and create scaled plans of interiors Drafts plans based on sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs to client. Uses design applications to prepare and illustrate final plans Determine timelines and project costs and presents accurate estimates to clients. Create interior design schemes and 3D imagery for all types of environments (commercial buildings, homes, hotels etc.) Develop 3D models using computer aided design software Recommend materials, finishes and layout solutions to meet clients’ requirements Create a mood board and preliminary plans for review by client Ensure client’s expectations are met by following up on progress of the project Design spaces that are functional, aesthetic and capable of fulfilling clients’ needs Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors Strong visual design skills including proportion and aesthetics Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient use of computer-aided design (CAD) software. Proficient use of 3D software (Sketchup/3D Studio Max/Revit) Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Basic understanding of building codes and inspection regulations related to interiors Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Interior Design or related field required; coursework in computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D software required Interior design certification highly preferred At least one year of related experience required Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Must be able to distinguish between colors
