Your Responsibilities

This requisition is for two Supervisor positions for Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA. One position will manage the Experimental Fabrication, Welding and Parts Movement departments, the other position will manage the Experimental Proving Grounds.

As a Supervisor  for Dubuque Works located in Dubuque , IA , you will manage a highly complex department (multiple processes, type of product produced, requires deeper and/or broader knowledge) responsible for experimental product development. 

  • Processes include fabrication, welding, and machining, machine testing and instrumentation.
  • Responsible for department budget and facility/test equipment maintenance.
  • Supervises semi to highly-skilled production, maintenance, and/or parts distribution warehouse employees.
  • The supervisor is the first-line liaison between the production employees and the management staff and thus also represents the company's interests with the shop floor staff.  
  • Motivate the team to achieve local business goals.
  • Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well -being of self and others in the workplace. Identify risky behavior patterns within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate. 
  • Develop short- or medium-term work schedules to achieve planned commitments. Approve overtime or use additional resources as needed. 
  • Allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal. Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.
  • Assist/lead in troubleshooting and diagnosing highly complex machines/systems, adjusting processes to optimize quality and productivity.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with fabrication, welding, or plasma cutting
  • Familiarity with SAP and VISION 
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience working with Union personnel
  • Familiarity with Union contract
  • Personnel conflict resolution
  • Ability to interpret complicated parts drawings and identify the necessary components, processes, and assembly instructions.  
  • Test site development, environmental stewardship and site operation. 
  • Familiarity with machine PV&V test procedures and instrumentation.


Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Level of experience
