Are you looking for a Challenge? Looking for an innovative organization and the opportunity to learn and grow professionally? We are seeking a Remote Environmental Scientist III to conduct research and studies for the Bureau of Land Managment's (BLM) National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

So, what will the Environmental Scientist III at Terrestris do? 

Big picture, you will assist the Bureau of Land Management in sustaining the health, diversity, and productivity of public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations by analyzing public comments on completed BLM National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects in order to enhance the agency's ability to anticipate, identify, and address socioeconomic values and associated issues expressed by the public.

Specifically, you will apply standard procedures, offer expert advice and have a broad understanding of multiple subjects to maximize opportunities for commercial, recreational, and conservation activities. 

What does a typical day look like for the Environmental Scientist III? 

You will: 

• Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures

• Perform analysis involving conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment 

• Act as a specialist or consultant in a particular area of expertise 

• Suggest solutions and provide expert advice 

• Perform field observations and data collection

• Act as main point of contact for the BLM team 

• Create BLM'S Best Practices document 

• Facilitate meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members 

• Document procedures and guidelines for future reference 

What qualifications do you look for?  

You might be the Environmental Scientist we're looking for if you have: 

• Bachelor's or Master's (preferred) in physical, natural resource or life sciences, engineering or closely related field

• 3 – 5 years of related experience 

•  Experience in the application of NEPA 

• The ability to read, interpret, and apply federal and state environmental policies, laws, rules, and regulations that are technical in nature 

• Experience developing and implementing continuous improvement projects
