RESPONSIBILITIES- Compliance Program Design and Implementation: Tailor, initiate, and oversee compliance initiatives, with a focus on the health and insurance sectors Continuously monitor evolving industry standards and regulations to ensure the efficacy and relevance of compliance strategies
- Policy Creation and Evaluation: Develop, assess, and revise policies and procedures concerning health tech compliance, covering areas like data privacy, security, and adherence to regulatory mandates Ensure all policies meet industry and regulatory benchmarks
- Risk Analysis and Mitigation: Perform evaluations to pinpoint compliance risks and potential vulnerabilities Work alongside internal teams to craft and implement strategies and controls that minimize these risks effectively
- Training Programs: Create educational materials and deliver training sessions on health tech compliance Promote a culture of awareness and responsibility across the organization, ensuring all staff are informed of their compliance roles
- Audit and Monitoring: Set up processes to track and audit adherence to relevant standards and regulations Regularly conduct audits to identify improvements and ensure ongoing compliance
- Regulatory Reporting: Compile and submit necessary reports to regulatory bodies concerning insurance and privacy standards Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely, precise reporting of compliance information
- Incident Management: Establish protocols for handling compliance incidents, breaches, or violations Work with stakeholders to investigate issues, take corrective actions, and minimize any negative consequences
- Compliance Advisory: Offer guidance on compliance to internal departments, particularly in product development Act as a subject matter expert, helping teams navigate intricate regulatory landscapes
- Risk Response: Assist teams in addressing Vendor Risk Assessments (VRA) from customers and partners
- Vendor Oversight: Assess third-party vendors for adherence to contract and regulatory standards, managing ongoing relationships
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees in law, healthcare administration, or a related field are mandatory
- Preferred: Master’s degree or certification (e.g., Certified in Healthcare Compliance - CHC)
- Several years in healthcare or insurance compliance or similar fields
- In-depth knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, CCPA, GDPR, and PHI protection best practices
- Ability to interpret complex regulations into actionable strategies and a history of successful compliance programs
- Legal experience (in-house or law firm) is advantageous
- Familiarity with tech and software development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with compliance in a dynamic, fast-growth environment

Expected salary for this role is $140,000 - $160,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
