Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing and monitoring all incoming invoices and payments in an accurate efficient and timely manner. This role is crucial in ensuring that vendors are paid correctly and on time while maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have experience in both agriculture and manufacturing industries and possess a strong understanding of accounts payable processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify invoices and check requests ensuring proper documentation and approval.
• Accurately enter and code invoices into the accounting system ensuring correct GL account allocation.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments including ACH and wire transactions.
• Monitor and reconcile vendor statements researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage the accounts payable mailbox responding to vendor inquiries and addressing paymentrelated issues.
• Maintain and update vendor files ensuring accurate and uptodate contact information and payment terms.
• Assist with the monthend closing process including reconciling accounts payable subledger to the general ledger.
• Generate and review accounts payable reports identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments including procurement and operations to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
• Assist with the preparation of 1099 forms and other taxrelated documentation as required.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable function.
• Provide support for internal and external audits including gathering and organizing documentation.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
• 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role preferably in the agriculture or manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
• Understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory accounting and purchase orders in a manufacturing environment or Knowledge of agriculture industryspecific accounting practices is desirable.
